Moving the site to a new service!

Hello members!

Just a quick update to let you know that we will be moving our site to a new provider this week and we may experience some downtime. We are making the move in order to provide more comprehensive services to you and make sure our website has the type of functionality we would like to offer you.

If the site goes down, it should be back up and running soon. Sorry for any trouble this may cause you.

Been a busy spring!

As we are wrapping up the newest CT Scan, we have had a chance to look at what we have coming up in the near future.

Looking forward to Tsukuba! We are excited to have three very interesting presentations at our forum at JALT 2014. Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming CT Scan with more information about the presenters.

We will be looking for articles soon for our very first CT SIG Journal. We will release more information about the submital requirements on this site soon.

There are a lot of things happening and we want our members to have a chance to be a part of it!

Nara re-cap and looking toward the future.

The Nara event went very well and we learned a lot about getting videos out and about for you, our members. If you have time, please head over to the livestream site and log in with your account. You can see the videos we took there. The first video was at an odd angle but the second one looks much better. The audio is fine and we hope you can join us again the next time we live stream an event.

Looking toward the future, we are excited about the CT forum in Tsukuba. This November should be a great event with a lot of interesting and useful ideas. Keep tabs on this page for the most up to date information on the happenings of the SIG.

We hope to have photos of the Nara event and the Miyazaki event up soon. Bear with us as we get them together and I will post them as soon as they are available.

Hello members!

If you are hoping to join us virtually for the CT event later today, here is how you can gain access for free:

Step 1: Either go to the LiveStream website or download the app for android or iOS.

Step 2: Log in or create an account (it is free).

Step 3: Search streams for CT SIG.

Step 4: Follow our stream for access to all of our events.

Step 5: Join the Nara Event stream at around 1:25 to view the presentations.

Step 6: Enjoy.

This is our first time to stream an event and we are largely untested in this area. If technical problems arise, we will do our best to rectify them in an speedy manner. Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the event!

NARA EVENT TO BE LIVE STREAMED!

We, here at the JALT CT SIG, are working hard to bring you more ways to engage with the SIG and learn about Critical Thinking.

As we are experimenting with live streaming for the first time, we will be using a free service called Livestream which works on all platforms.

NOTE: you will need to create a free account to be able to watch the feed. Please go to Livestream’s website or download the app and create your free account. You will need to follow the CT SIG Livestream.

We look forward to providing this service to you.

As the newsletter informed you, this website has been updated with new sections for you, our members, to use and enjoy!

Please take a little time to browse each section and leave a comment if you like. This is just the beginning. We are planning to bring a lot more functionality to the SIG website in the near future.

We have a resources section on this site for all people to learn about the implementation of CT in your classrooms. Head over here to take and look!

If you have something to share (a link, a website… anything reallly!) use the contact form to get in touch with your resources. The more resources we have, the better we can help each other. We look forward to hearing from you and sharing your ideas!
